Volunteer as an altar worker during the 1Hope4America Crusade!

What is an altar worker?
An altar worker is a volunteer who connects and prays with people who want to pray and dedicate their lives to Jesus in the 1Hope4America meetings.
Requirements and Standards
As an altar worker, it's a privilege and responsibility to pray with people who want to commit their lives to Jesus.
We all are on a journey in our relationship with Jesus and we are looking for people that have walked with Jesus for at least 2 years.
We are passionate about personal freedom and that freedom overflowing onto others. We require that volunteers have also abstained from pornography, sexual immorality or substance addiction for more than a year.
How to serve as an altar worker?
During the crusade evening meetings, there will be times, usually at the end of every evening when we will ask people to respond to the message. We will ask them to come out of their seats and we will direct them to our team of altar worker volunteers.
As a local church volunteer, you will be paired with someone from our 1Hope4America altar worker team and you will together receive people responding to the message.
Most nights people coming forward are making a decision to rededicate their life to Jesus or give their life to Him for the first time.
We would like you to do the following when talking to people coming forward:
- Introduce yourself and ask their name.
- Ask them why they came forward and make sure they understand the significance of what they are doing.
- Feel free to explain the Gospel of Jesus again to clarify or make sure they understand their decision and what it will mean for them.
- Lead them in prayer of repentance (turning from sin and to Jesus) and surrender to Jesus as their Lord. Romans 10:9-10.
- Pray for them as you feel led.
- Ask if they want to confess anything or need freedom from any addictions or sins in their life. James 5:16.
- Capture their personal contact information by opening the New Believer Page on the 1Hope4America website.
- Put their name and number in your phone and make a note to reach out to them the following day to see how they are doing and to invite them to connect with you or someone in your local church. Plug them into your church!
